Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries (ELM) is committed to the full participation of persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life and ministry of the Lutheran church.
The Rev. Richard Andersen

Richard E. Andersen is a
1979 graduate of Luther Seminary. He was approved for reinstatement
to the roster having served
Lutheran parishes earlier in his
life. Richard is interested in
interim ministry opportunities.
He has worked as a senior financial
counselor at Thrivent for
Lutherans for the past fifteen
years. “My life has revolved around
being gay and acknowledging my
call to serve the church as pastor,”
Richard explains. “My hope for the
future is to be an openly gay minister
in a church of a denomination
that would allow this to happen.”
He now looks forward to starting a
DMin program at the United
Theological Seminary of the Twin
Cities. Richard is also a member of
the Twin Cities ECP panel. |
